What is Accessory Breast Removal at JW Plastic Surgery?
An accessory breast, often called a “second breast,” is a condition where there are more than two breast tissues present.
It is not part of the original breast but rather an additional breast tissue.
As everyone differs in terms of amount of fat, glandular tissue, and degree of skin sagging, it is important to find the most suitable surgical method for each patient.

JW plastic surgery: Causes of Accessory Breasts
The mammary line in the human body forms from the armpit to the groin during fetal development.
In most cases, mammary glands develop only in the breast area, and the rest degenerates naturally.
However, if this degeneration does not occur properly, the remaining tissue can develop into an accessory breast.
During puberty or pregnancy, the accessory breast may widen and sometimes cause pain or discomfort.

If left untreated, it would rarely develop into mastitis or a tumor,
and because it is considered unfavorable in appearance, surgical removal can be performed.
JW plastic surgery’s accessory breast surgery method

Tissue Suction
For cases with a small amount of glandular tissue and minimal sagging of the accessory breast.
A small incision of 0.3 cm is made along the armpit crease, and fat and glandular tissue are removed using a cannula.

Tissue and Skin Excision
For cases with a large amount of glandular tissue and significant sagging of the accessory breast.
Around a 3 cm-long incision is made at the armpit,
through which fat, glandular tissue, and excess skin are removed.
